NoDQ.com fans remember Eddie Guerrero

"My favorite memory of Eddie was training with him when he got out of rehab. I was training at Steve Keirn's School and Eddie was down there every night and he would work out for hours. I would stay in the ring going full out for at least 30 minutes, until I couldn't keep up anymore. I would bail and someone else would get in with him. Eddie would never get out of the ring. It was amazing. He was born to wrestle."

"Mine would be way back when in WCW before the wrestling 'War' even got to full tilt. Nitro was filling up with nothing but stagnant old men who had nothing left to offer but their past main event status. Bischoff was buying these old farts off left and right, and reducing his best talent to being curtain jerkers. During this time Eddie and Chris Jericho came out to the ring and did a shoot interview declaring that they were not jabronis and were deserving of main event status seeing as they were the best that Nitro had to offer. This opened up the eyes of the front office and either as reward or punishment they were set into situations where they could truly shine/fail. The Eddie Guerrero/Chris Jericho feud was one of the only reasons I stayed tuned during commercial breaks on Raw. Oh yeah, the Latino World Order was just plain hilarious."

"My favorite Eddie Guerrero moment would be when he would throw the chairs at his opponents and they would catch it while he would lay down quick and pretend he got hit by his opponent with that chair and the ref would turn around and DQ that person for holding the chair lol. That was always funny."

"There are many, but nothing touches that night in February at the Cow Palace when he beat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. That was as golden as any moment in WWE History."

"My favorite moment would have to be when Eddie was dating Chyna, and he flew into a jealous rage. Eddie just played the angle with such emotion that I was half expecting Eddie to actually hit her."

"Eddie's rivalry with Dean Malenko, wow that opened my eyes to how great wrestling could be. His time as Black Tiger, as part of Los Gringos Locos and of course as champ. The man was one of my favourites, I'm glad he got some glory before his criminally premature death."

"When he came into the ring when Chris Benoit won the World Title, I think that was a magical moment. And I think it wasnt just Benoit's moment, it was Eddie's moment too, because he won his title as well, which was just as magical, but with Eddie and Benoit you could see the love and friendship, it wasnt about anything else, just pure love and friendship, and they celebrated they're winnings together. So yeah, that was a beautiful moment and will forever be my favourite."

"When Eddie was gone from WWE for a bit of time and he was working the indies I was able to meet him. I was doing ring crew of a small indy fed in Queens, NY and Eddie was working the show. Before the show he was in the ring working out. After he was done working out he signed autographs for all the people doing ring crew. I got him to sign my replica ECW Tag Title. He was super nice and very cool about it."

"One has to be his match against Rey Mysterio on SmackDown! in February 2005. I remember the finish vividly; Mysterio and the Refree were both knocked down, and Eddie went over to the side and got one of the Tag Titles. He brings it in, puts it on Mysterio, and falls down as if he was hit. Before the ref got back up, Mysterio put the belt back on Eddie, and started pointing to his face. Eddie's reaction was absolutely priceless. He rolled over to his stomach to hide the belt, and i'll never forget when the ref asked him 'Did you hit him with the belt?' Eddie replied 'Me? Noooooooo!' I'll remember him most for that moment."

"My favorite memory of Eddie is from after No Mercy 2005. it was his birthday and he had just facing Batista to try and once again become the new World Heavyweight Champion, as he and Batista stood in the ring together, Batista called for a mic and told everyone that it was Eddie's birthday today (like we didn't already know) and as he and Eddie stood in the ring Batista and the live crowd in Houston sang Happy Birthday to him which in turn after we sang it they wheeled out a cake and Eddie got on the mic becasue he was a heel at the time, he said something to the effect of, 'I know you guys like to boo me becasue i'm a bad guy, but even though you guys boo me i come here and bust my ass for you." that got a HUGE pop from the crowd he then finished with, 'and I WILL become World Champion once again.' after that i remember Batista also mentioned that it was Brian Hebners birthday aswell, a cake fight insued and i was there to witness the entire thing. when all was said and done, Batista, Eddie and Brian made their way to the back covered in birthday cake. i'm kind of choked up writing this casue it was his last PPV appearance before his death and i remember reading on WWE.com and i just cried for a couple minutes casue it was un-real."

"Wow I have a lot of favorite Eddie Guerrero memories. The one that sticks out the most would have to be when he and Art Barr were in Los Gringos Locos. The one memory that sticks out the most is their match with Octagon and El Hijo del Santo. Even though they lost it was still a memorable match. I was still a child when I first saw it."

"It wasnt really a moment, but I think the best memory I ever had of Eddie was when I bought the DVD 'cheating death stealing life' I never really knew Eddie that well until watching that DVD. That DVD also teaches a great lesson, not only to other people who might have been or are addicts, but just to normal people, that no matter what you can still acheive your goals if you try hard enough. Eddie will always be a hero to me."

"First when Eddie stormed the playboy mansion cause of China's spred. Eddie and Chavo got 'tampered' burrito's from causin Chewie to feed to the Big Slow and take out his bladder. Uncle Eddie's bed time stories. Eddies interfierance with Hardy matches to try getting in Lita's pants. Guerrero winning the championship. Rey and Eddie putting over C.M. Punk in a triple threat championship dark match and C.M. Punk won years before he was in the scene....Guerrero's got class. Eddie's anul search with the gay doctor and Batista watching. Eddie and Chavo stealing from the actual baby carage. All of his many cars and that trend on a weekly basis. Eddie beating up on Chavo back in W.C.W. His walk-in music.....and many many more."

"Thinking back, I met Eddie back in 2002-2003. He was in town and I seen him at the airport. He was rather amused by me and I know that because he was snickering as a woman 5'8" about 100 lbs soaking wet was pushing another wrestlers buttons. (Wont reveal who and it was nothing more than a heated discussion). But he was very pleasant to talk to. Eddie was a true professional inside and out of the ring. He kinda seemed on the shy quiet side and never wanted to hurt anyone. He was also very amusing as an entertainer in the ring. I do miss seeing him out there and infact was quite stunned to hear that news.. But in all reality, the world hasnt forgetten him, and that he left his mark on the fans everywhere is how any wrestler should be remembered. And when I think of him, I will never think bad. He was a cool guy that loved his family and his job and amoung the most loyal of the loyal to his profession."

"I can think of lots of memories of Eddie. Some of my favorites are when he came to the ring in a different lowrider every week. I also loved it every time he tricked the ref to make him think his opponent hit him with a steel chair. I also love the 5 short episodes he and Chavo did where they would lie, cheat, and steal around other people. One of my favorite memories is when he brought back the lowrider in late '05 and teamed with Batista and Roddy Piper to defeat Randy Orton, Bob Orton, and Mr. Kennedy in a six man tag match. I still miss Eddie and I'm glad the wrestling world had such a great human being wrestling in it."

"My favorite Eddie moment was his last match on Smackdown, the match with Mr Kennedy. When he pretended to get hit with a chair and fell down. I don't really get to watch Smackdown too often but it was one of those times I was able to watch it. He was so funny and no matter how bad of a mood you were in, you could just watch a eddie match from the late part in his career and make you forget about worries in life."

"I can't remember a moment that wasn't great. He showed his passion in the ring, and stole the show every night. But my favorite moment was he Smackdown! after he won the WWE Championship. They had the pyros, confetti, balloons, and the fans enjoyed every moment of it. I was so proud, because he was one of the few people that deserved it more than the rest of the guys. When he held that title, in my mind, he truly was the greatest in the world, and he could back it up. I just wish it would have lated a little longer, and I hope that Eddies example opens doors for the smaller wrestlers in the future."

"My favorite Eddie memory? Well, it's also my first Eddie memory. Because it got me back into wrestling. I'd quit watching for a long time. It was just boring. Turned on WCW Saturday Night. It was Eddie vs...I think it was Kidman. Awesome match. Saw Eddie dive off the top rope to the floor like halfway up the entrance way. I ain't turned it off since then..."

"The final time I saw Eddie live was at Smackdown! at the Staples Center about three weeks before his death. The show's main event had him and Batista taking on MNM for teh tag-titles. Eddie and Batista lost, and both men stayed in the ring for a Triple-Threat World Title drak match with Randy Orton. It was a very fun match, with Eddie and Batista doing most of the work in the ring, and everyone got a kick out of it and left home very happy."

"I worked a show with Eddie in 2002 (stiff frogsplash, lol). He was very creative with the finish and was the consummate pro. After the show he said he'd bring Rey back next time because he had such a good time. I told the promoter that there would not be a next time because I felt his head was screwed on straight and New York would pick him up again really soon. One month later he was the Intercontinental Champion. He continues to be missed....."

"Man there's just soo much. I've been dedicating my page and blogs to Eddie this entire month in preperation for the 1 year anniverssary on Nov. 13. Eddie was my hero in the wrestling business, someone I wanted to grow to be and model my career after. Him being gone only makes me want to do it even more. There's many memories of Eddie I have but one will aways stand out in my head. No, its not Halloween Havoc 97, or the Summer Slam ladder match, or when he and Benoit celebrated in the ring to close of Mania XX, or even when he won the Title by defeating Brock....it was a promo he did, one of the best promo's I've ever heard. A combination of a worked-shoot promo on a Smackdown episode. It was during the road to No Way Out 2004, Brock Lesnar was poking fun at Eddie for being a addict, a Mexican (remember Brock with the Sombrero and the Mexican band in the ring?) and calling him a loser. Eddie came out and spilled his heart in the ring on that mic to Brock after that. He told how Brock was right, he was an addict and once a loser, but he turned that all around and was a new person. He lost his job, his family, his health and almost his life on multiple occassions all to his mistakes. And how it was his time to redeem all of his past mistakes to everyone he hurt. I remember Eddie going over in his head all of the negative comments people said in his ear about his life and career."
